Up Cycled Mid Century Side Table

Description

This beautifully designed mid-century piece has been up-cycled to a very high standard with a contemporary colour scheme and retro-style, hand painted, illustrative decoration.

The legs are a beautiful hardwood – POSSIBLY cherry – and have been thoroughly sanded back to a smooth finish, then oiled with 3 coats of an “Osmo” Exterior wood oil. The panels are 9mm exterior-grade plywood which have been thoroughly primed and then painted in three coats of sign-enamel and finished in three coats of Craftmaster oil based yacht varnish. I am a sign-writer by trade so the patterns are painted freehand. The finished piece is more than just ornamental, it is solid and sturdy with a sheen that will happily stand up to every day use, weight, spillages etc.
