Design Consultation & Development
Bring your vision to life
Not every client arrives with a brief. Some arrive with a feeling — a direction, a reference, a word — and need help turning it into something concrete. That's what design consultation is for.
Before any paint touches any surface, there's a process of thinking. What should this sign, mural, or lettering piece say? What should it look like? What feeling should it give the person who encounters it? What's the history of the space, the business, the object? What conventions of the craft are worth following, and which are worth breaking?
These are questions that deserve proper attention, and at Delicious Signs, the design phase is treated as a serious part of the work — not a preliminary box to tick. A well-developed design makes the painting easier, the result better, and the client more confident in what they've commissioned.
Design consultation is available as a standalone service for clients who need help developing a concept before committing to production, or for those who want a hand-drawn, craft-informed design that they'll then take to another medium — print, embroidery, fabrication, or elsewhere.
The process typically involves an initial conversation (in person, by phone, or over email), a period of research and sketching, and then one or more design presentations for review and feedback. Revisions are worked through collaboratively until the design is right.
This service is particularly useful for businesses developing new visual identities who want something rooted in traditional lettering and hand-drawn craft, rather than the default outputs of digital design tools; for individuals commissioning custom objects, gifts, or artworks; and for architects and interior designers who want hand-painted elements integrated into a larger scheme.
Design work is quoted on a project basis. Some design fees are absorbed into the cost of a subsequent painting commission; others are standalone. Get in touch to talk through what you need.
